Xcore StartKit support PCI Express?

Please can someone tell me whether the Xcore Start Kit supports PCI Express. I have seen some posts on the internet stating that it does and other stating that it does not. My understanding is that it doe not and that the slot acts as a GPIO for Slicecards.

The PCIe slot is exclusively used to mount expansion cards.It does not support PCI-express.
