How to read device ID using xTAG-2?

Post by markaren1 »

Hi All,

I have been given an XMOS USB + DAC board (FireStone Audio Custom Cute) which appears to work.

The marking on the XMOS device appear to be something like UD1210L1, which isn't something that Google can help with. The package is something like a TQFP 48, and Digikey appear to only stock the XS1-L4A-64-TQ48-C4 which might fit the bill.

After minor board modifications, it is possible to attach an XTAG-2 and run some simple blinky-LED code, and "xrun -l" returns device as "L[0]"

Code: Select all

Available XMOS DevicesID Name Adapter ID Devices0 XMOS XTAG-2 JOpVenGt L[0]
From the XS1 series of device datasheets, there is an IDCODE word available as part of the JTAG interface.

Any help identifying this device (preferably using JTAG) appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

With xTAG2 you will be able to read if the device is an single tile or dual tile device. You might not be able to read the number of cores each tile supports. The explanation of part marking can be found in each device's data sheet under Package Informtion Section. The particular part with marking UD1210L1 was based on old part marking scheme. The device which you have would more likely be an L8 device.
