What is it you are looking to find out exactly?

Just wondered if it would still be using the G4 chip and if it would still be $100. I just bought an XC-1 and might consider getting one of the new boards since it offers the flash and supports an external power supply.

As the XC-1A is a revision update they problably will still using a G4 chip.
However i think they will not be using the BGA512 package but the BGA144 package.
At the time the XC-1 was developed only the BGA512 package was available.
The BGA144 package will cut costs because not only the processor is cheaper, it might also reduce a few layers on the PCB.
Confirmed facts are that it will incorporate a SPI boot flash and external power connector.

It will be good news if the XC-1A board price comes down. It'll nice to get a G4 board at the $50-60 mark.Bianco wrote:As the XC-1A is a revision update they problably will still using a G4 chip.

I got an email today from DigiKey saying that the XC-1 is now obsolete. The DigiKey page has a link to the XC-1A, but clicking on it results in a "part not found" error.

What about the FTDI chip, will it be skipped?
I like the low-price XTAG2, and I already have several different cards from XMOS.
An integrated USB-programmer on each card becomes an extra cost and adds extra space.

Probably not the most confused programmer anymore on the XCORE forum.
