I am willing to accept Neil's challenge
Alternatively, all of the schematics, gerbers and design files for the XTAG2 are freely available to download from our website, should you wish to undertake the manufacturing and support of such a product on a third party basis. We do this with all of our board designs in order to encourage third party developers and manufacturers. Please note that if we gave our boards away we would remove any economic incentive for them to do so.
In fact I will go one better:
1) I will build a board that lowers barriers to entry for Xmos development.
2) I will use the open designs etc as provided to embed the xtag2 into the product
3) I will add more features to make it even better to develop with whilst maintaining support with the Xmos XIDE
All You need to do is opensource the complete Xtag2 software, so I can build it from source to create the required firmware, and to allow me to adjust for any changes in the future you may wish to make on the xtag2XIDE side.
I need this to guarantee that purchasers of the board would not be left high and dry if changes are made to the xtag2 operation.
The ball is in your court, please allow me to lower the barrier to entry, by opening and publishing the XTag2 code/spec.
regards
Al
