There is a tools archive here - https://www.xmos.com/products/archives

I thought the tools still supported all versions of released silicon?
"Rev A" G4 support got removed at version 9.9.0 (we only shipped rev A via some v2.1 XDKs). All other kits and XDKs post v2.1 will all be Rev B.

The serial number off the back of the XDK or the chip markings will tell all!

The (hard to read) marking is:
XS1-G4000A
BGA 51208Eng
0832

Trash or worth a penny ?

Kind regards

What did I say? A rare collectors item.

If it's trash I'll pay you to post it to me in Helsinki :)

That is rev A silicon and only supported by the pre 9.9.0 tools unfortunately.

It could be updated with a newer chip. It would probably cost about £50 to get the chip removed and replaced.

I believe XMOS did a no-cost replacement of RevA silicon with RevB equivalents although clearly at least one was missed. If I were you, I would enquire at XMOS about getting this one swapped for a current model.

Is there any other (trade) offer except postage payment ?
Nothing at home or in your company (giveaways etc.) you won't need anymore ?

Kind regards

kruedi2:

Sadly not.

The small software start up company I'm working for has very little in the way of interesting hardware gadgets I could scrounge.

My personal circumstance at this moment is such that I have nothing to offer except my time and some up and comming software projects that I will throw into the open source pot.

These currently include:
a) A means of running large C/C++ and FORTRAN programs on an XMOS chip from an attached external RAM. Using a virtual machine.
b) A 6809 microprocessor emulator.
c) Asm code for the Parallax Inc Propeller micro-controller that speaks XLINK protocol to XMOS chips.

Hmm... I really should get on with posting those projects here...
