can i use the qspi pins for accessing other devices

I am using the XE-216-512 device and using the reference avb design. i want to be able to access a device using spi interface. when i look at the lib_spi library, all example show using pins other than the pins used to access the internal flash. can these be shared to read/write other devices or are they only to be used for flash and new set of spi pins need to be defined.
