ExplorerKit integration

Hi all,
This is my first post on here :)
Is there an easy way to use the multichannel firmware on the explorerkit ? I have been running some of the examples on the board to get used to the XMOS workflow but want to get serious now.
I have an Analog Devices ADAU1452 dev board and want to send/receive at least 8 audio channels between the two boards, I am not fussed whether it is I2S or TDM but I'm not sure how to get them talking...
I have a project on the DSP ready to go but it's the XMOS side I'm struggling with. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
