What is the maximum value of the reference clock?

Post by dan »

Why is 100 MHz picked as the speed for the reference clock? By increasing the speed of the reference clock I can do some IO operations faster.

How can I change the reference clock frequency and what is the maximum reference clock frequency that will work for input and output via ports?

Are there any undesirable side effects of altering the default reference clock frequency?

Hi Dan,

100 MHz is a fixed reference clock and it is not possible to change it.

This speed has been chosen as part of the architectural definition of the XS-1 architecture.

Best regards,

John
