Can any link be used to connect between two devices?

I want to connect two xCORE devices using xCONNECT links. Can I use any link to connect between two xCORE devices?
You can use any link to connect between two devices. However, the boot-slave XMOS device boots through Link-B. Therefore, the boot-Master can connect to the boot-slave through any link whereas the boot-slave has to connect to boot-master only through Link-B.
