Commercial product / volume OTP programming

Hi All,

Depending on how things go in the next couple of weeks, I'm considering bringing my next project to market. I can see a number of hurdles / have a few questions though, such as:

- What's the best way to program the chip's OTP in volume?
- Are there any licensing fees from XMOS? (I'm guessing no, but hey... )
- Anyone have any experience with industrial designers with regards to cases and what not?

I'm a n00b when it comes to this and I'm sure I'm forgetting TONS of things.. Baby steps :-)

Yes!, an Xtag type Jtag programing board with multiple Sockets and test pins. say one, two, four, six.
I think it would be a practical for your application just not turnkey, because you have to build it.

There are lots of test socket stuff, perhaps gang sockete burners. they still half to be custume at the
socket carrier board level. They are golden screwdrivers, but are turnkey with the numbers to back it. :idea:

Rather than having jtag pins stick out, anyone know if there are specialized zif sockets out there (with ground pad!) that can be used? That way, you could burn the OTP and then stuff the board...

You might want to take a look at "pogo pins" for in-system programming.
You don't need a header, just exposed pads.
