How many off chip links on the G4-144pin

Post by DrFingersSchaefer »

Hi guys,

I am suffering a small degree of confusion (nothing new there then).

Can someone give me a definitive answer as to how many on/off chip links are provided on the 144pin and 512pin G4 devices.

A clear tutorial on the ports from a what pins are allocatable to what might be useful too I have'nt got to these yet but feel some confusion already.

cheers

fingers

The XS1-G4-512 has four pairs of XLinks (in/out) on each of all four XCores. The XS1-G4-144 has four pairs of XLinks (in/out) on each of two of the four XCores only (XCore0 and XCore 2). See Sections 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 of the data sheets.

Thanks for the info Leon

The problem I was having was that I had read the docs and found them a touch contradictory if taken as read.

I had drawn the conclusion that the 144 device had 4 Bi-Di link sets and the 512 had 8.

Rather than your suggested 8 and 16. I think given your practical experience I will go with your understanding over mine.

The documentation on the ports/links and pins is'nt overly clear to the un-initiated.

Further questions, if the pins that do links are all in use as links (either 4 wire or 10 wire), can the other pins be used concurrently for IO ?

Again I have read the docs and find them confusing, holey or contradictory.
