XMOS Daisy Chain Board receive 8 Channels

Post by JohnnyRoehn »

I am having a setup with a 8 channel XMOS Talker and 4 Daisy Chain Boards, which can receive 4 channels only with the standard firmware. I am wondering if it is possible to make the daisy chain boards receive the full 8 channels of the talker or at least choose which 4 of the 8 channels to receive and playout by editing the firmware. I dont need talker functionality for the daisy chain boards.

Does anyone have experience with that?

If you can find 4 unused 1bit ports, you should be able to just increase the channel count from 4 to 8 in the XMOS DC software and assign the unused ports to the channels you don't want brought out to physical DAC.

Channel selection is one of the things that was not specified by AVB back then. Now it got specified by the Milan specifications.
