Have anyone any experience about using digital microphones togwther with "DSP"s

or a PDM solution
XMOS handles I2S without trouble, and with this solution you do not need to create your own analogue front-end.
I would like to connect a little forest of digital microphones to XMOS, maybe to a cluster of quad XC-1

Hey, that's sounds quite interesting!
I was also about to try ADMP441 for a few projects ... with xmos as well as other platforms,
because this chip claims 24-bit output. Have you evaluated it in your lab already?

Those look pretty sweet, they are a nice fit with XMOS too since there is no ADC while the serial stream should be a piece of cake for the clocked ports. While for audio output you can bodge together a PWM DAC.

I already used that kind of microphone not the one with I2S out but an analog Version the ADMP504.
The sound output was quite good but you should really use thin flex pcbs like they use in their reference designs.
We used it on a thick PCB which really changes the frequency responce depending on the angle, well here it was just for loudness detection so it was ok.
