XMOS recommends to use a 4 layer PCB if you want to escape with all pins and have good heat transfer in a ground plane.
Is that OK for you ? You can find a Gerber with a XMOS layout here:

I made this test with 2 layers, but it is unproven.

I can't find the TQFP-128 L2 on xmos.com any more - has it been discontinued?

Do you mean the L1? The L2 has never been available in a QFP package.

I meant the L2... I could have sworn I saw it listed as available in TQFP-128 about six months ago.
