Guys,

I just begin with the Xcore... How is writing code for it? It handles well?

Kind regards,

It handles very well. Like a Ferrari good and fast, very responsive to inputs, small. Can't handle heavy or large loads:)

If you want to do 'heavy loads' you could try the XMP-64 - or build something even bigger.

But the XMOS processor was designed to be agile - the designer rides a motorbike, and
doesn't drive HGVs (Heavy Goods Vehicles)!

Dave "the designer rides a motorbike"

Now I understand everything.

To continue the vehicle analogy - runs hot, a little gas hungry.

I'm going to be handling the big loads by creating an emulation of the diminutive ZPU 32 bit architecture for XMOS which will execute big C programs from an attached external RAM. We will use GCC for the C compiler. http://opensource.zylin.com/zpu.htm

The result will be like attaching a good old fashioned double adult side car to a YamahaYZF-R1 but at least the XMOS has a bunch of other threads/cores to zip along at speed still.
