re-check your wiring on display's side - may be you got a bad contact. if you have an access to logic analyzer - re-check that everything is fine. disconnect the display for 1-2 hours, re-connect.

Thanks. I'll try the disconnecting. I've checked the wiring, it all seems fine (no logic analyzer so rather a lot of LEDs). I'll wait for Leon's boards I think - so I can eliminate the "electrical" point of failure as best as possible.

Maybe Kent will know something; will keep you posted.

i am waiting for sparkfun's tutorial and/or developer's kit with some info for this display, it might be useful too.

direct comments from kent would be much better.

The Molex connectors turned up and I'm making a couple of boards at the moment - I'm just about to start the etching process. If you pm me your address I'll get one off to you tomorrow. I'll post a photo of the assembled board later on.

Do you have a 16-way header and IDC cable?

I've checked continuity between the header pins and the Molex connector leads, and prodded them with a scalpel. They seem OK.
